Peter Lipsky, M.D.
Dr. Lipsky is a Rheumatologist and Immunologist whose major research is in the immune basis of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. He served on the Board of Directors of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and as the chair of the Medical and Scientific Committee of the Arthritis Foundation. Dr. Lipsky received his bachelor's degree from Cornell and medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Strong Memorial Hospital and his post-doctoral fellowship in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Dr. Lipsky was a Professor of Internal Medicine and Microbiology, Director of the Harold C Simmons Arthritis Research Center, Co-Director of the Immunology Graduate Program, and Director of the Rheumatic Disease Division of the Department of Internal Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Subsequently, he served as the Scientific Director of the National Institute of Arthritis, Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases at the NIH. He has trained more than 150 post-doctoral fellows and students specializing in rheumatology and immunology.
Dr. Lipsky has been awarded numerous prizes, including the Carol Nachman Prize, the American College of Rheumatology Distinguished Investigator Award, the Lee Howley Prize for Arthritis Research, and the Japan Rheumatology Prize. He has authored more than 750 research papers and is a former editor of the Journal of Immunology, Arthritis Research and Therapy and Nature Reviews Rheumatology. Dr Lipsky is the founder and CEO of AMPEL BioSolutions, a precision medicine company focusing on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.
Mary Crow, M.D.
Maria Dall'Era, M.D.
Dr. Dall’Era is the Jean S. Engleman Distinguished Professor and Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She received her undergraduate degree in Immunology from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed all of her medical and fellowship training at UCSF. Dr. Dall’Era is the Director of the UCSF Lupus Clinic and the Rheumatology Clinical Research Center. She currently serves as the Chair of the Lupus Clinical Investigators Network (LuCIN) and is a Steering Committee member of the Lupus Academy, Lupus Forum, the annual Lupus 21st Century Conference, the TRM-SLE initiative, and the Lupus Accelerating Breakthroughs Consortium Research Committee. One of Dr. Dall’Era major interests is the design and conduct of clinical trials of novel biologic agents for SLE and LN. Dr. Dall’Era is a frequent speaker on the subject of SLE and LN and is a section editor of Lupus Nephritis.
Dr. Dall’Era has published numerous peer reviewed articles and received numerous honors and awards over the last two decades. Dr. Dall’Era is the recipient of the prestigious 2023 Evelyn V. Hess Award from the Lupus Foundation of America.
Thomas Dörner, M.D.
Dr. Dörner is the Professor of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology for Innovative Therapies for Autoimmune Diseases at Charité University Hospitals, Berlin, and Liaison Group Leader of B cell Memory at the German Research Center of Rheumatology, Berlin (DRFZ). He obtained his undergraduate and doctorate degrees in Medicine from the Humboldt University of Berlin. Dr Dörner was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.
Dr. Dörner has served as a member of editorial boards of leading journals in rheumatology and immunology, including Arthritis & Rheumatism, Arthritis Research & Therapy, Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, Global Arthritis Research Network (GARN), Current Reviews in Rheumatology, the Brazilian Journal of Rheumatology, the European Journal of Immunology, Lupus Science & Medicine, and Rheumatology Reviews.
Dr. Dörner has received a number of awards, including the EULAR Honorary Award 2023, Senior Scholar Award of the American Society of Rheumatology, the H Schultze Award of the German League against Rheumatism, the Schoen Award of the German Society of Rheumatology, and the Fischer Prize by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
